Hi beautiful Curlistas,

I know I have been MIA for a bit. Things have been a little crazy these past few weeks. You know how it goes sometimes.

It’s time for “Mask of the Month” for April and we are going to be making our very own DIY Ayurvedic Hair Mask. This mask if great for all hair types and textures.

Now, if you have been here for a bit, you know I love Ayurvedic herbs. I have been using them for a while in my hair regimen and have been getting great results.

If you would like to know more about the benefits of these herbs, read my post on Benefits of Ayurvedic Herbs and I also have a separate post on the benefits of Henna for Hair Growth so be sure to check those out.

Without further ado, here we go:

DIY Ayurvedic Hair Mask

1/4 cup Amla Powder

1/4 cup Brahmi Powder

1/4 cup Shikakai powder

1/4 cup Neem Powder

1 cup of hot water

A medium mixing bowl

A plastic mixing spoon

A pair of gloves

a plastic shower cap

Combine all dry ingredients in the large bowl and mix. Gradually add the water and stir thoroughly. The consistency should be like cake batter.

Put on the gloves. Apply to freshly washed, towel dried hair from roots to tip using your fingertips. Pay special attention to the ends of your hair. Cover with a plastic shower cap and leave on for 45 mins or overnight. Rinse with conditioner and warm water.

This amount is for shoulder length hair so you may have to tweak the recipe for your hair length. My hair is short and I use 2 tbsp of each powder.

That’s it!

I hope this was helpful and easy to understand.
